Sunday evening, August 23rd we celebrated the ordinance of baptism on the Rappahannock River.Four candidates were presented for baptism. The congregation gathered and watched as these four were led into the waters of baptism.
I think the image of Richard B being carried into the water by the men was particularly symbolic. It is a picture of the church carrying one of its members when they are unable to do so.We rarely see such a visible image of Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
May the Lord bless you as you see the images of a sacred evening on the river.
Renee Owens took the following images on Tuesday and Wednesday during Track Times and Rec Time. These events are held in the morning or afternoon. Some of our students are in track times that will have them leading in worship on Thursday. Others are learning sign language. But all are involved in three different track events. Here are a few images from Renee.
