I want to link you all to an article from the New York Times. It was written in light of this week’s remembrances of 9-11. The article is a story of one young man who was greatly affected by the attack that day. His choice to enlist in the army cost him his life. This story could have been written about many of the 2,000+ soldiers who have given their lives over the past five years in Iraq and Afghanistan . The young man featured in the article is the nephew of a friend and fellow pastor here in Virginia . I did not know him. I have no other connection to his family other than his uncle who pastor’s a church in Buckingham , Virginia . But I want us to remember him. I want us to remember the sacrifices. I want us to pray for our leaders and those who are in harm’s way.
