Last week our church encountered some difficult days. Three of our people ended their journey on earth. They are experienceing things in heaven we can only imagine, but for those of us who remain, there is a profound sense of loss.
Each of the individuals who passed last week made significant contributions to our church, community and lives. During the funeral services we took time to celebrate their accomplishments and to mourn our loss. Prior to and following each service we did what you do at the time of funerals. We laughed and cried with the respective famillies. Our job was to give them support and that is what we did. Why the detail about last week? Two huge points for us to remember: 1. During the storms of life we need our spiritual family to lean on. 2. Life is too difficult to navigate alone. Another part of our body life is that we also rejoice with those who rejoice. Two weeks ago, one of our own won the Essex county spelling bee...good job Jordan Wiliams! One of my desires is to see a thriving children's music program. During worship on Sunday we saw what can happen if we direct a few of our energies at this when 30 of our kids sang. What amazed me wasn't their singing, what amazed me was the response to the song! The following are some pictures of our Kingdom Kids Weekend. Prayer matters.... Larry Lind is now in Arizona helping his former church through a crisis. Please pray for his physical strength and spiritual discernment as he works with the church. Continue to pray for Al Lumpkin. He has had a difficult time following his open-heart surgery. Blessings, David
