What a day of church at Beale yesterday! There were several exciting elements that came into play. Take a few minutes and reflect with me how church 'happened.'
1. The day started with 17 of our children and parents feeding the homeless in Richmond. 2. Our congregation gathered for a time of Bible study and discipleship. 3. We rejoiced with one who rejoiced (Col. Reavis retirement as a Marine Corps aviator) and we lifted up in prayer one who is facing a particularly difficult surgery (Al Lumpkin is having open heart surgery on Tuesday.) 4. During the special offering we raised over $43,000. What a statement of faith! 5. In the afternoon a group of 14 traveled to ODU for a Christian concert. Service....Discipleship...Fellowship...Giving...Worship... Does it get any better than that? Friends, that is our goal weekly. To connect people with the Holy, to involve our folks with the process of discipleshp, to meet one another in fellowship, to open the doors for service in the community. When we are able to do that, amazing things will happen. Blessings on you this week. David |
