At Beale, we believe that everyone has hurts, habits, and hangups. As God’s people we are called to live in freedom. Freedom from sin. Freedom from our past. Even freedom from addiction. Leaders at Beale are working diligently towards launching new recovery ministries, and working alongside people in the local recovery community.
Sunday, September 17th
On September 17, 2017, Beale invites other congregations to participate in a region-wide recovery focus Sunday. By going to www.recoverysunday.org, you will find free sermon outlines, small group and Sunday school lessons, responsive readings, prayers, coloring pages, and suggested music for worship on Recovery Sunday.
In addition to worship and Bible Study materials, we are making all of our artwork and graphics available for free, so you can make bulletins, posters, and share on social media. All during the summer of 2017, we’ll be posting content produced by some of the finest faith leaders in Virginia, so that when September comes, you’ll be ready to roll with everything from Facebook banners to bulletin inserts.
Coming in January of 2018
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered program with foundations firmly established in Biblical truth. The 12 Steps with accompanying Scriptures and the 8 Principles based on the Beatitudes offer participants a clear path of salvation and discipleship; bringing hope, freedom, sobriety, healing, and the opportunity to give back one day at a time through our one and only true Higher Power, Jesus Christ. The 12 Steps and the 8 Principles work seamlessly together, tying historical recovery to timeless Biblical teaching.
Over the summer of 2017, Beale sent leaders to the national training for Celebrate Recovery. Those interested in seeing a Celebrate Recovery ministry launch at Beale are meeting for Bible study every Sunday night at 6PM beginning on September 10th. Please pray that God would bless this new initiative and that this ministry might serve as a blessing to the greater Tappahannock Community.
There are already several pathways to recovery in the local community (AA, NA, and other meetings), and Beale views Celebrate Recovery as simply another pathway for recovery in the local community. Our CR ministry will meet on Sunday nights not only because that time fits well with our overall church schedule, but because it won’t overlap with any current meetings in our area. People from the community are invited to get involved. For more info on CR, call James at 804-238-8906.
